The California Reducing Disparities Project (CRDP) Historical Storytelling Report is a narrative-driven initiative led by the Equity and Wellness Institute (EqWI), commissioned by the Office of Health Equity (OHE) within the California Department of Public Health.
CRDP originated from a vision to address longstanding issues related to accessibility, acceptability, and affordability of mental health services among five of California’s most underserved and inappropriately served communities: African American, Asian and Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, and LGBTQ +
populations.
The project is dedicated to implementing and evaluating community-defined evidence practices (CDEPs) that offer culturally and linguistically competent prevention and early intervention mental health services.
